When you can honor those who came before you while knowing that the resources, respect, and honor you gave them will eventually come back to you, it feels incredibly liberating. You will only reap horizontal favor if you only invest in relationships with people who are on an equal footing with you. Yet, you will begin to reap some of that vertical favor when you are confident enough in who you are to understand the impact you have on other's lives and you invest in connections with people who are above you.
